War Criteria

The Athens got attention of the Persion, they desired that the Athens be punished for the role it played in the destruction of Sardis. After the burning of Sardis, other cities revolted in Asia Minor. The Persian fleet numbered about 600 Phoenician ships and the Greek 353. The Phoenician fleet won the balle superiorly. After a long siege from land and sea the city of Miletos was captured and destroyed. In 492 BC, Darius went his son in law Mardonios with a large army and fleet in an expedition at Thrace to invade Greece. Though he failed, but the failure of the expedition didn't sake Darius.
